You might have lost all hopes to read something about the Adam Green live show in Milan last Sunday. But no reason to be so pessimistic - here is our review of the show! And guess what, we have something even better for you than just words: Nuvola Ravera took all these amazing photos for Bandsintown from the front row – thanks to DNA Concerti who kindly gave us a photo pass.

Adam Green. I heard so many things about this guy. Member of the Moldy Peaches when he was just 14 years old in 1999, he went solo since 2002. In 2004 Adam hit Bologna for a sold out show at Covo Club but I didn’t make it in unfortunately. After the show people were more than amused and excited because apparently the guy had been a great entertainer; a pretty good storyteller; and perhaps a little bit crazy too.

This time I arrived early and I did get in. Mr Green is definitely worth some of your time on a Sunday night. He is a stage animal; he knows how to entertain his public starting with entertaining himself first. He loves to be under the stage lights and you can tell it immediately from his “Ciao Milanooooo” – wow, the guy looks so happy, I thought.

He’s wearing Jeans, black studded leather jacket and cowboy boots, a real rocker total look – booze included. He sang, danced, and jumped around for over an hour. Stage diving was the leitmotiv of the night. Evidently, Adam is kind of a touchy-feely person, he seemed to feel like showing all his love to his crowd. It might not be a surprise that he decided to mash up one of his songs with Everything I do, I Do It For You by Bon Jovi.

On top of everything, a young lady –probably just as touchy-feely as Adam himself– decided to jump on the stage and kiss his hero. Just a shame the two didn’t get to coordinate themselves.

Who’s in Town?! Not to Miss Shows in… Milan!

By Chiara and Piepaolo

Bandsintown landed in Milan to keep Milanese people always updated about the hottest shows in town. Let’s get it straight, it is always the right time of the year in Milan to enjoy concerts and live shows. The next few weeks though are going to be hotter than ever: great bands are coming to town and Fashion Week is approaching. Get ready to prove your coolness.

Here are some shows to get you started:

2/10  Real Estate + A Classic Education @ Diagonal Loft Club, Forlì
We definitely recommend you to take an outdoor tour down to Forlì to attend the first and only italian show of Real Estate. They made it into Pitchfork’s top 50 Album of 2009 and we had the chance to check them out last summer in Brooklyn…warming up a humid summer night. I “kindly” suggest you to bring together 4 friends, some beers and take the risk. A Classic Education, one of the finest italian bands, will be opening the show.

02/12  Jules not Jude + The Calorifer Is Very Hot @ La Scighera
The Calorifer is one of my fav Italian bands out there. I couldn’t think of a better description: “A veritable package of unusual instruments, punk attitude and three voices […]”.

02/12  The White Lies @ Plastic
If you are a party animal you should definitely be attending this show. One of the most hyped bands is coming to town to play in the most hyped venue in town: Plastic. If you are ready to go through the hardest door selection ever and be surrounded by the hipster Milanese crowd, then this is your gig to be (in case you miss it there will be a second gig on 02/17  The White Lies @ Alcatraz)

02/19  Fischerspooner @ Magazzini Generali
For sure they know how to make you move. Remember “Emerge”?

02/25  The Bloody Beetroots @ Magazzini Generali
Probably the best known couple of DJs from Italy. The Bloody Beetroots played and will be playing everywhere in the world: Australia, Malaysia, USA, UK, Germany…and of course Italy. They definitely know how to throw a good party and Milan is their home. It will be a hot mess, for sure. I am going, are you?

02/28  Adam Green @ Magnolia
Adam, ex Moldy Peaches – Juno unintended soundtracker to be clear – finally comes back to Italy to entertain us with his over the top performances (I still remember people talking about Green’s show @ Covo Club, Bologna, in 2005 – or was it 2004?)

Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @BandsinMilan for show announcements, live tweets from concerts, contests and more.  What shows do you recommend? @ us with your suggestions!
